Our approach

We go to private schools, under mandate of their management, which is what makes EmoMind unique! We offer evaluations and psychological support for children and teenagersĀ directly in his or her school, in order to optimize their time and that of their parents.

Usually, after an initial consultation with the parents, either face-to-face or remotely (by zoom), we carry out a psychological assessment of the child or teenager during school hours (in collaboration with the school management). Then, we give a summary of the assessment to the child or teenager as well as to his/her parents, face to face or by zoom, at the end of which we propose, if necessary, individual psychological support or group workshops. This psychological support takes place during extracurricular time, in agreement with the school's management.

First consultation

An initial consultation with one of the psychologists is first organized with the parents to get to know each other and better identify the nature of the child's or adolescent's needs. This clinical interview is carried out face to face or remotely (by zoom) and allows for a review of current difficulties and life history.

At the end of this first consultation, the psychologist will be able to formulate an understanding about the child's situation and propose a suitable psychological evaluation.

The psychological assessment

The psychological assessment is the key step to analyze precisely the difficulties, the disorders and the resources of the psychological functioning of the child/teenager.

It is an approach that relies on a battery of standardized tests whose in-depth analysis allows for a detailed exploration of the intellectual, cognitive and emotional aspects of the personality. The objective is to draw up a "map of the inner territory" in order to provide a maximum of keys to understanding.

Following this assessment, an interview with the parents and the child or adolescent will allow the analysis of the assessment to be presented. This is a complete insight that is essential to understanding the situation and the cognitive strengths and weaknesses. A written report is always given at the end. During this interview, proposals for treatment can be made according to the needs, within the framework of EmoMind or with external professionals.

Psychological support

Services are provided to children and adolescents directly in schools. The frequency, duration and framework of the follow-up vary.

Psychological support promotes the maintenance of individual, family and social balance. It places the human being at the center of the interventions by taking into account cultural, emotional and psycho-corporal characteristics.

Psychologists work closely with other professionals and with the network around the individual to ensure effective and comprehensive care.
